Testing Only

These are randomly generated codes for testing purposes. Real Eircodes are assigned by An Post.

What is This Tool?

An Eircode generator creates fictional Irish postal codes in the standard 7-character format (A65 F4E2). Eircodes uniquely identify every residential and business address in Ireland and were introduced in 2015 to improve mail delivery and location services.

Eircodes consist of a 3-character routing key (identifying the area) and a 4-character unique identifier. The routing key uses a letter-digit-digit or letter-digit-letter format. Over 160 routing keys cover all of Ireland. The unique identifier uses letters and digits (excluding B, G, I, J, L, O, Q, S, Z).

Navigation & Mapping

Frequently Asked Questions

Are generated Eircodes real?

Codes follow the correct format but are randomly generated. They may not correspond to real addresses in the Eircode database.

What is the Eircode format?

Seven characters: 3-character routing key + 4-character unique ID (e.g., D02 AF30). No spaces in storage, space between routing key and unique ID in display.

How is an Eircode different from a UK postcode?

UK postcodes identify postal delivery areas (many addresses per postcode). Eircodes are unique to individual addresses (one Eircode per address).
